"State the kind of crops raised, and the condition of the same; whether the freed people work for monthly wages or a portion of the crop, and the customary amount of either.

The majority of them are working for a portion of "crop" which is abt 1/3 thereof to the "hand" out of which they have to pay for their subsistence during the period of cultivating & harvesting – Cotton & corn seems to be the principle product of this section.
