"State the kind of crops raised and the condition of the same; whether the freed people work for monthly wages or a portion of the crop and the customary amount of either."

Cotton and corn crops condition very promising for Cotton until a few days since. The worm has appeared in some places Corn good. Freedmen generally work for part of crop either one third of rations or one half interest rations.

"Include in your Report the operations of the State laws as applied to freed people, with special reference to the Apprentice Law, Vagrant Law, and Law regulating labor."

But few Freedmen are apprenticed in this County. Contracts are not generally made under State Law but in accordance to terms specially set forth.

"Report the difficulties you labor under in the performance of your duties and how the same may be remedied."

Many verdicts are found vs parties who have no property above State Exemptions and difficulties arise in collecting amounts due for labour performed for parties then embarrassed.
