| Nov. 10th 1868 | Marion Ratcliff (white) | James Callisson (white) | Murder: This was an examining Court, as Ratcliff had been arrested on suspicion. Callisson, a short time previous to his death, had assisted a friend of his, to elope with Ratcliffs sister. The night of the murder, Callison and an other man, were walking out together. They were hailed from a fence, and ordered to halt, immediately after then were fired upon. Collisson fell, his friend started back to his fathers house, returned with others, and found Collison lieing dead on the raod. The next day a hat was found on the spot where the parties stood, who had done the murder, said to be Ratcliff. Ratcliff was bound over in two thousand dollars to appear at next term of the District Court. |
