My business has been in settling accts generally referred to me by both parties  I have had only about ten civil suits or debt. I have been six days out of the Office, dividing crops & putting owners in possession of property  Office hours from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.

"State the number of Troops at your Post and the necessity for the same; whether or not the freed people would be secure if they were removed; in other words, will the civil authorities protect them and give them justice? &c."

Company "B" 26th Infantry is at this place. Freed people are not secure, but are more secure with troops in this vicinity than if they were not here  Civil Authorities protect nothing
