No appeal for mercy would be listened to and he was shot three times through the head by these gentlemen. The were arrested by strategem and had an examination and were bound over to Dist. Court, by Justice Doltan in the following amounts.

Hicks & Turner  five hundred each
J.N. Norman  three hundred dollars
A.M. Davis  one hundred dollars
Thos. Hurton  Fifty Dollars

This was a case of cold blooded murder. The bonds may be good but neither will appear for trial.

Nov. 28th  Clark Jones went into the house of Theodore Rice one of the registrars of Falls Co. and shot him. Rice is still alive but no hopes are entertained of his recovery  Jones killed a man named Howard here last summer. No effort yet made for his arrest.
