   I have been engaged this month in settling contracts and winding up the business of my office My office hours is from 9 AM to 5 PM with recess of 2 hours aat noon.  
   I have not been absent from my office during the mo.  

"State the number of Troops at your Post and the necessity for the same; whether or not the freed people would be secure if they were removed; in other words will the civil authorities protect them and give them justice; &c., &c."
    There are no Troops, at my Post and no necessity for any at present The Civil Authorities can in a considerable measure protect the Col. people from violence byt in Civil matters they have a favor showing.
