'Report the disposition and feeling of the white people towards the freed people, as expressed by words and actions."

The white are, apparently, well disposed towards the freedmen. But few difficulties are reported to me, and those of a minor character.

EDUCATION.

"Report the feeling upon the subject of education; what steps have been taken to promote the same; what efforts the freed people are making in that direction, and in what manner they may be assisted. &c."

The freedmen erected a building for a school house, at this Post, about two months ago. Every assistance was rendered them by the S.A.C., that was practicable: but owing to the sudden departure of the teacher, no steps have been taken to commence the school.
