Brazil, Ind., pilot who shot down the first Nazi plane among the pilots of the 99th. He was congratulated by Gen. Dwight Eisenhower on his return to his [[illegible]]

LT. CHARLES W. DRYDEN
Born in New York, he attended the City College of New York for three years and was graduated a pilot and received a commission as second lieutenant on April 29, 1942.

LT. ALLEN GASTON LANE
Born in Demopolis, Ala., he attended Tuskegee institute for three years and was graduated a pilot and received a commission as second lieutenant on July 3, 1942.

LT. JAMES T. WILEY
Born in Evansville, Ind., he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1940, and did post graduate work at Carnegie Institute of Technology.

LT. SPANN WATSON
Born in Johnston, S. C., he attended Howard university in Washington, D. C., for three years and was graduated a pilot and received a commission as second lieutenant July 3, 1942.

LT. SAMUEL M. BRUCE
Born in Crockett, Texas, he attended Agriculture and Technical college in Greensboro, N. C., and graduated a pilot and received his commission as second lieutenant on Sept. 6, 1942.

LT. HERBERT E. CARTER
Born in Armory, Miss., he attended Tuskegee institute for two years and graduated a pilot and second lieutenant on July 3, 1942.

LT. GEORGE R. BOLLING
Born in Hampton, Va., he was graduated from the Hampton institute, and graduated as a pilot and received a commission as second lieutenant on July 3, 1942.

LT. PAUL G. MITCHELL
Member of the 99th Pursuit Squadron in Sicily who has been reported killed in action by the War Department. A native of Washington, Mitchell is a graduate of Hampton institute.
