Charles L. Freer. Esq.,
Detroit - Michigan,

My Dear Sir:-

It occurs to me that you may be interested in a private collection about to be disposed of in Boston. It is strictly private - scarcely a score of people in this country have been invited to examine it - although it is known abroad.

Mr. John L. Graves, the Collector, has spent fifty years in accumulating the rarest objects to illustrate the history of Art. The late Prof. Charles Eliot-Norton delighted to spend hours in this gallery and in many letters referred to it as incomparable. On account of advanced age the collector wishes it placed permanently where it will prove of educational value.
