Mr. George W. Alger, Secretary,
For Mr. Chas. L. Freer,
915 Union Trust Building,
Detroit, Michigan.

Dear Sir:

I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of the 20th instant, enclosing, at Mr. Freer's request, check for the sum of $41.56, in refund of our remittance to you on December 9, 1920.

It is extremely kind of Mr. Freer to meet the expense of these cables. In view, however, of the fact that they were incurred solely in the interest of our exhibition, it was, of course, our wish and expectation to meet this reasonable expense ourselves, and we were, therefore, willing and glad to do so. Since, however, it is Mr. Freer's wish to pay these charges himself, we accept his check with cordial acknowledgements of his thoughtful consideration. I beg that you will please advise Mr. Freer of our appreciation of his courtesy to the Corcoran Gallery in this respect, and tender him our cordial thanks.

I return herewith the voucher, duly receipted in accordance with your request.

Very truly yours,
C. Powell Minnigerode
Assistant Director.
