1956. One Small Pitcher, with original handle. Persian.

Soft, buff paste.
On outside, dark green glaze decorated with a band of inscription, in Arabic, around neck and vertical lines in pairs around body, all incised and filled in with glaze like that covering the inside of the pitcher; crackled; purplish-silver iridescence.
Inside light greenish-blue glaze and silvery iridescence.
XIII Century.
High basal ring flaring outward and un-glazed within.
Two areas on neck running downward from rim are missing and filled in with plasters: otherwise intact.
Height, 6 3/4". Diameter of mouth, 2 7/8". From excavation at Raghon.

1957. One Circular Bowl. Persian.

Hard, buff-colored paste.
Ivory-white under-glaze; uncrackled; slightly iridescent end showing small areas of yellowish earth scale.
XII Century.
Decorated on inner base with four sitting figures and three standing [[obscured]], above which two bends of decoration circle inner side; the upper land reaches the rise and consists of conventionalized decorative Cufic letters; the lower band is of geometrical pattern. On the outside an encircling band of losenge form containing dots.
The decoration are applied with a brush in rod, black, green and gray.
Recessed basal ring; intact.
Creeks and alight repairs.
Height, 4 5/8". Diameter at rim, 8 5/8".
