Dear Sir;-
We have your favor of the 30th ult. and regret to note that you have felt it necessary to refer this to Mr. Freer, especially as this means a delay of two months. We venture to suggest that in the meantime, a payment on account will be appreciated, you holding back a reasonable sum to protect yourself, though as we have previously stated, there is no doubt but that the slight differences between "inside" and "glass" measurements will be of no moment to Mr. Freer. in the makimono cases, two of which were shipped this morning and more later in the day, these cases are made to hold certain length paintings and the measurements are given in our letter of August 2nd, the lengths being taken inside between the ends Of course in this instance, the actual inside measurements are taken irrespective of glass sizes, whereas in "pottery cases" the cases are not designed to fit a certain piece or a certain space and therefor the small variation in measurements is of absolutely no consequence and the case may be made using the limits of the
