Eleven cases for exhibiting Makimono, made for Mr. Charles L. Freer by Charles F Biele & Sons Company and received at the National Museum, Washington, between January 31 and February 16, 1911.

The dimensions given are based upon careful measurement at National Museum, after the manner noted in Mr. Alger's letter of February 7, 1911. The discrepancies found are pointed out.

1 case 10' long, by 18" wide, by 36" high at the back.
1 case (in 2 sections) 21' long, by 18" wide, by 36" high at the back.
The dimensions of these two cases correspond with those given in Mr. Alger's letter.

4 cases 8' long, by 16" wide, by 35 1/8" high at the back.
3 cases 10' long, by 16" wide, by 35 1/8" high at the back.
1 case 12' 6" long, by 16" wide, by 35 1/8" high at the bank.
The dimensions of these 8 cases correspond with those given in Mr. Alger's letter, except that they are 7/8" short in the height at the back. According to the drawing, however, 35 1/8" should be the correct height.
1 case (in sections). The total dimensions are as follows: 36' 8 1/4" long, by 18" wide, by 36" high at the back and 26 1/4" high in front.
