WASHINGTON, D. C.

OFFICE OF
ASSISTANT SECRETARY,
SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION
IN CHARGE U. S. NATIONAL MUSEUM

February 25, 1911.

George W. Alger, Esquire,
915 Union Trust Building,
Detroit, Michigan.

The Biele Company wrote me on the same matter under date of February 23, and I have replied to them informing them of our error.

The Superintendent further informs me that he does not believe the glass in the middle section of the long case could be replaced in Washington, in view of the special character of the fittings. It
