My dear Sir:

Referring to my letter to you of the 27th ultimo, relative to the eleven makimono cases purchased from Messrs. Biele & Company, New York, by Mr. Freer, I would say that the Biele Company has now furnished me with sufficient evidence to cause me to believe that the makimono cases are built in accordance with Mr. Freer's wishes, and I have to-day sent them a check in settlement. I am taking up with them the matter of the broken plate glass in the long makimono case and will let you hear from me when we arrive at some conclusion in the matter.

Very truly yours,
(Signed) George W. Alger
