We beg to acknowledge receipt of your favor of the 2nd inst. enclosing check as per enclosed voucher and for which accept our thanks.
The fault of the breakage of the glass in centre section of the long makimono case is apparently due to carelessness in handling as this section, same as the others, was packed in best possible manner. In this the authorities as Washington seem to agree. We feel that the R. R. Co. is probably responsible and we suggest making claim on R.R. Co.
