Messrs Charles F. Biele & Sons Co.,
379-381 West 12th Street,
New York, N. Y.

Gentlemen:

I am pleased to note from your letter 8th inst. that you will get ready the new glass for the long makimono case and send two men to Washington replace it. I am also pleased to learn that you have taken the matter of this breakage up with the Star Union Line, and will be glad to hear from you when anything is done in the matter.

I am writing Mr. Rathbun to-day informing him that when you get the new glass ready for the makimono case you will send two men to Washington to replace the breakage, and that you will instruct you men, while there, to look into the matter of the metal finish to the case, as well as to the damage to both of the bases of the two "pottery" cases. Will you kindly advise Mr. Rathbun direct when you expect to send your men.

Yours truly,
(Signed) George W. Alger
