Mr. Wilson Eyre, Jr.,
927 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, Pa.

Dear Mr. Eyre:

I spent last Friday at Kingston and looked over matters in connection with Will’s house very carefully. Mr. Case, the man I sent from here to superintend the work is doing very nicely. He staked out the foundations and has the excavations practically completed. We have gone over the specifications fully, and I send same to you under separate cover and with the certain memoranda made to my brother and Mr. Case. Please note particularly the following:

Excavating to be done by owner.

Stone, brick, cement, lime, sand, and hair to be furnished by owner, mortar however to be prepared by contractor.

We decided to excavate under the kitchen, which will necessitate a doorway leading into the cellar under dining room.

[[?]]. Yellow pine instead of spruce.

JOISTS. Hemlock instead of spruce.

Sills. 6x8 instead of 6x6 and of yellow pine instead of spruce.

PAP[[?]]. To be furnished by owner, and applied by contractor.

SAW[[?]]T. To be c[[?]]d from ice house.

SIDE W[[?]]S. Will be stone but they can be omitted from specifications as there is sufficient stone there and Will has a competent man to do the work.

PORCHES. Joists to be of yellow pine instead of hemlock. Rafters of [[?]]es to be of yellow pine instead of white pine.

Rafters of [[?]]. To be of yellow pine instead of white pine.

POSTS. To be of yellow pine instead of white pine.

STEPS. To be of yellow pine.
