June 21, 1894.

My dear Tryon:

Yours of recent date reached me yesterday and this morning our Treasurer received your communication inclosing the Central Car Trust Co.’s note for $3,000.00. Our treasurer in turn has issued his check to Hecker and Freer for $3,000.00, and I send you herewith note of the Central Car Trust Co. dated March 31, 1894, due Oct. 3, 1894, for $3,000.00. Also inclosed please find check of Hecker and Freer for $51.00, being the discount at 6% per annual for three months and twelve days on the above mentioned note. When this note [[?]], we will arrange to renew it for you for one year, if you then desire to have it done. The note is absolutely good and you need have no fear concerning its value.

Let me congratulate you most heartily on the success of your new boat. She must indeed be a “corker”, and I can quite understand your gratification in the success of designing so perfect a craft.

Dewing met me in New York last week and came home with me. He is spending a few days with me and is amusing himself in the garden, which is undoubtedly a great success. He is still talking of his foreign trip and expects to sail some time during the fall.

The Heckers are expected home from Europe on Saturday next, and after the Colonel gets accustomed to working, I expect to have a little rest and spend a day or two with you at Dartmouth.
With kindest regards to yourself and Mrs. Tryon, I remain,

Very sincerely your friend,
C. L. Freer

Mr. D. W. Tryon,
