Miss Tatsu Yajima,
Hachiken, Shinkomichi Kado Gion,
Kioto, Japan.

Dear Miss Yajima:

I have received your letter of Jan. 1 and thank you for your cordial New Year greetings and for the messages sent through you from my two “Karumaya”, Toro and Ko, also for the mention from Yaya.
I am sorry to learn that yourself and your brother are no longer engaged together in business and hope that eventually your troubles will be adjusted and your old-time relations renewed. Should I at any time require any embroideries, I will be happy to send order for same to you direct. I remember with much pleasure the kindness you showed me while in Kioto, and hope some time for an opportunity to reciprocate.

With kindest personal regards and wishes for much happiness,

Yours very truly,
