April 29/96.

Mr. Ernest D. North,
With Charles Scribner’s Sons,
153 to 157 Fifth Ave., New York.

My dear Mr. North:

I have your letter of April 22, also the package of Kelmscott books. I have examined the latter and have retained the “Shelley” in three volumes, $30.00: the “Wood Beyond World”, $16.80; and “Hand and Soul”, $3.50; for which kindly send me invoice. The balance will be returned by express to-day.

I have been extremely busy during the last two or three months and have had too little time to devote to books, but trust to have more leisure in the future.

With kindest regards I remain,

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
