April 29/96.

Mr. Tozo Takayanagi,
160 Fifth Ave., New York.

My dear Sir:

I thank you kindly for your letter of the 23rd inst. inclosing Japanese ideographs of Mrs. Sano’s name, and hope some day for an opportunity to reciprocate your kindness.

Inclosed herewith please find draft on New York for $10.00, payable to your order, in settlement for the bronze Koro. I regret the delay in this settlement, which was occasioned by either your failure to send the bill or because, having been sent, it was mislaid here.

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
