Mr. Sadakachi [[Sadakichi]] Hartmann,
241 West 16th St.,
New York City.

My dear Sir:

Earlier reply to your favor of 18th inst. prevented by my absence. It would afford me very great pleasure to see you in Detroit and to show you the “House of Freer”. I fear however you have an exaggerated idea of its importance. I need not add that it would give me pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am leaving for New York to-night, but the present trip will be an extremely short and extremely busy one, consequently I greatly fear it will be impossible for me to have an interview with you this time. It is my good fortune however to visit New York frequently, and I hope within the next two or three weeks to meet you and discuss the matter mentioned in your letter.

Pardon me for sending a typewritten letter, but with the rush of affairs in hand I am compelled to do so.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
