Mr. V. W. Gookin,
C/o Northwestern Nat. Bank,
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Sir:

I beg to acknowledge receipt of your esteemed letter of 27th inst., also of package of Japanese prints belonging to Mr. Howard Mansfield. I hope to find time to look over the prints to-day, after which they will be sent on to their owner.

I appreciate your kind reference to our belated acquaintance and trust to have the pleasure of meeting you ere long. Some years ago I used to visit Chicago very frequently, but of late it has narrowed down to two or three trips a year. I shall however, when next in your city, take pleasure in calling upon you, and I will be happy to welcome you in Detroit whenever you can come.

Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
