Dec. 22, 1893.

Mr. Chas. E. Phillips,
40 Wall St., New York.

My dear Mr. Phillips:

I have your favor of 20th inst. and in reply beg to say that I did misinterpret the object of your inquiry concerning Mr. Walker, caused doubtless by reason of the hurry we were both in at the time of our conversation. Mr. Walker is employed at Berry Bro’s, I think in the capacity of Sales Agent. He has apparently some small means. He paid cash for his 50 shares of M.P. preferred, and I understand he was a little hard up during the past summer. He is reported to me to be honest and capable.

Wishing you the compliments of the season, I remain,

Yours very truly,
C.L. Freer
