Mr. Bunkio Matsuki,
380 Boylston St., Boston, Mass.

Dear Mr. Matsuki:

On my return home a day or two ago I found your valued letter of July 24, also the kakemono and various pieces of pottery, all of which I enjoyed very much. I count myself very fortunate to have had so pleasant a visit with yourself and Mr. Shugio and trust that ere long we may meet again. Our conversation on your native country gave me great pleasure, and I shall long remember what you had to say concerning the places of interest, the temple of which you are so fond, and various other things.

I have found the Banko bottle even more beautiful that [sic, than?] at first sight and I am very glad to possess it. The other pieces are also not only beautiful but very interesting. The sketches and marks sent by you will prove useful in many ways. I note what you say regarding the [illegible; unsure whether R or K]enzan dish and would be pleased to see it, but I do not know when I shall be in Boston again; am afraid not for some months.

Inclosed herewith please find draft and voucher in payment of account. Be good enough to receipt the letter and return same at your convenience.

With personal regards, I remain,

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
