Sept. 29/96.

Mr. Wilson Eyre, Jr.,
927 Chestnut St.,
Philadelphia, Pa.

Dear Mr. Eyre:

The plans for my sister’s house are at Kingston and I presume contracts will be let this week. The design I am glad to say suits my sister very much, as it does me.

She desires the fire places outside faced with brick, and I agree with her that a more satisfactory effect can be obtained by their use than if tile were to be used. Will you kindly ask one of the eastern brick makers – of which there are several on Staten Island – to send to my brother, George T. Freer, Kingston, N.Y., examples of brick suitable for the purpose mentioned, so that my sister can choose the colors she wants.

Will it not be in order to send you check on account? If so, let me know how much I shall make the check for, and I will be glad to forward it.

With personal regards,

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
