The (f.m) helped by white citizens are building a School House, in the meantime a suitable room can be rented. think a teacher should be sent up to him at once_ |

Woodville Tex March 8. 1867  States that he has been employed by f,m, H Bean and G, McQueen of Tyler Co. to recover their portion of crops raised on the plantation of Lewis Ulrich, States that Ulrich when the corn was all ground and the cotton only needed one more working, drove the f.m. away and refuses to give them their share, I had Ulrich summoned by the S,A. Com, for investigation of the case  he the S.A.C. decided that the f.m, should have 1/3 of the crop and certain Rations, the fm. gathered the crop according to contract, Ulrich still refuses to allow them their share & makes his boasts he will never do so. Ulrich is a very bad character, asks what course to pursue |

| April 10 | Smith Geo W Brvt Maj | 75  Seguin Texas April 5th 1867  Reports case of Louise Anderson (fm) VS H Williams who with a loaded gun in his hand had at 10 OClock PM taken Louise out the house she [[void]] was staying in & threatened to shoot her if she came back into the house again, thus compelling her to remain out of doors nearly all night with but little clothing on her  Compelled Williams to settle with her & fined him $25.00 |
