Alya | Sept. 9th 66 | Airey | Threatened with Shooting | A native of Indiana, immigrated to this State & Co. prior to the Rebellion, kept out of rebel army until tried by a "vigilance committee" when he was furnished with a "Hangmans noose"; has always been a good Union Man, was known as such, and employed them in preference to others when in his power. Has been extensively engaged in the Tin and Stove business, has, in consequence of threats, sold out his business and left the County. |
