Your petitioner Ro. H Armistead of Williamburg represents that on the 28th December 1865, there was forwarded from the office of the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen &c at Richmond, by Capt Bates, to Capt Wilder of same Bureau at Fortress Monroe, an order awarding to petitioner the restoration of some lots of land in Williamsburg & vicinity, and also some rents in corn for the year 1865, the production of said lots, referred to in petition theretofore [[?]] to Col Brown of said Bureau

Your petitioner further represents, that he has not yet received the benefit of said order, though Capt Wilder has been requested to cause the same to be executed, but he then said Wilder alleges the said order can not be found, and probably may have been lost or mislaid.  From the freedmen tenants of the government, by the said government, petitioner is [[strikethrough]] are [[/strikethrough]] advised these rents have been now collected, but petitioner has also been advised, that subsequent to date of said order, there remained in store enough used [[?]] and enough to answer the demand of said order there in store at Fort Magruder.  This delay petitioner fears may in part if not in whole defeat the purposes of said order.  Petitioner therefore prays that due inquiry be made in the premises and such order or orders be directed as will secure to him the benefit of said order & petitioner [[?]] pray &c.
