Mr. A.C. Mason J.P. testifies that Def't and Mr. Wade brought the horse in question to him to get a right to him, according to the law of the Confederate Authorities. Def't. made affidavit in presence of Mr. Wm. E. Clopton that he picked up this horse on the farm of Mr. Geo T. Brumley near White House.

Decision: Horse to be given to Plaintiff and that Deft. pay him $25 for use of horse from Dec. 25th/65. This sum to be secured in a note at sixty days from date (Apr.12th/66) with good security.

Richmond T. Lacy, Counsel for Plaintiff
John P. Pearce, Counsel for Defendant.

Messers Wm. C. Wade, "George" T. Brumley & A.C. Mason are among the most reliable gentlemen of the County.

At the close of the evidence the counsel for the Defendant at once yielded the case. The decision of the Court was concurred in by all disinterested parties who witnessed the proceedings.

I would respectfully suggest that if the action of the Court in this case is not satisfactory, there be an officer appointed to investigate and report before the decision of the Court is reversed.

Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Servt.
N. M. Brooks.
Capt. & Asst. Supt. R.F. & A.L.
