Dear Christa:

First of all I want to [[strikethrough]] THAN [[/strikethrough]] thank you so much for the pix you took of me. I sent three to relatives in Cleveland and kept one, 161-23 for myself, which I plan to process for archival permanencem [[permanence]] mount, and hope to get you to sign.

Sorry that I haven not contacted you sooner, but I am just emerging from a depressive period of about five months where I slept about 18-20 hours a day and finctioned [[functioned]] minimally. At such times, I tend to isolate my self frompeople pretty much.

I am a manic-depressive, a fact, I don"t casually mention to most people, which means in lay man*s terms, I have periods of [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] extreme highs, where I might go for three days without sleeping,on mood alone, and then intense periods of severe lows, as mentioned earlier.

The only reason I mention it to you is that I apparently was going thru a manic period when you photographed me; remember your comment: "I looked as if I were being crucified."You caught the anguish of that period extremely well in the print I kept for my-self. Also, how could I expose 2 rolls of film on a Leica and get absolutley [[absolutely]] nothing, unless I was in uncontrolled mania.?

However, as years go by, I better learn how to recognize the oncomings of both periods and in recent years am able with the help of a competent therapist to shortcut the periods and do minimal damage to myself.

Anyway, my main reason for writing is to fulfill finally my end of the bargain, for you to select prints of equal value from my collection, or perhaps, I could try to do an informal portrait of you alone, or of both you and your husband, together, if you prefer in order to repay you for your [[strikethrough]] prity [[/strikethrough]]prints. Let me know which you would prefer.

Prevail,
MARK GREEN
