Dear Merrill,

Enclosed catalog from show I assembled here, called, "A Kind of Beatness," Photographs of a North Beach Era. Maybe I can swap it to you for a catalog for your show, signed by you.

The show ill go Gotham Book Mart And Gallery, in New York City from April 7 thru May 3. I will be in New York April 3 thru April 10. Perhaps I can make a side trip to Mt. Hoyoke if your show is going on still.

I hear it may come to LA. When and where? I hop you can raise the bread to have Jay De Feo down for LA opening,if that is true.

I was interviewed by Newsweek re my show, and they were also doing something on Poets of theCities at SF Museum. I mentioned your name and show to them, and they may have tried to reach you. Should be out in this week's issue-due out today or tomorrow.

I reallly enjoyed meeting you and am impressed in the fact that you really did your homework on our period, and that Wally Berman and Jay were really impressed by you to loan works.

I am giving my first public poetry reading in 16 years-Found my long, prose poem, "Beach Scenes and Funky Sounds,1957-60" will xerox a copy to send you. Interested in your reaction as how it stands ups.

Will you please get enclosed letter to Diane Di Prima if she is still near you.
