only such as will barely keep them alive. In Accomac County us better provision is made for them than for their animals. 

5th. There is plenty of labor to supply all demands, but there is such a prejudice against employing such colored men as have served in the United States Army that many are unable to obtain places. 

6th. The schools have been in a very prospering condition, and great improvements made. No requests for schools elsewhere have been made to these Head Quarters. 

Accomac and Northampton Counties. Lieut Geo. H. French Asst Supt. No rations issued - No lands occupied by the Bureau. Bureau affairs in good condition. The records well kept.

Princess Anne County. Lieut Havens Asst Supt. Records well kept. Affairs in good condition. Wise Farm occupied by Bureau. About 400 four hundred persons furnished with houses and lands. 4065 Four Thousand and Sixty five rations issued. About 125 one hundred and twenty five acres planted. Crops looking well.

Norfolk County. No Asst Supt. The Taylor Farm occupied on which about 600 six hundred persons live. 3687 Three Thousand six hundred and eighty seven rations issued to destitute and sick in Hospital.

Nansemond and Isle of Wight Counties. Brvt Major Stone Asst Supt. Affairs in good condition. Records well kept. No rations issued.
