Office Ass't Sup't &c Yorktown Va July 10. 1866 Genl, I have the honor to inform you that Ja's. Scott (late Serg't Co "H" 1st U.S. Col'd Cavalry), states that on the 3rd day of last March he delivered to Calvin. Pepper Norfolk Va, his discharge, in order that he might obtain for him, his bounty, paying him at the same time one Dollar. Since that time he has been unable to obtain any information in regard to eather his discharge or the bounty due him - I would most respectfully request that such steps, as you may deem proper, be taken to secure justice to this man I have the honor to be Very Respectfully Your obt Serv F.J.
