States that some time since a lot of hoes were imported
under the auspice of the Am. Miss Society free of duty for the benefit of the freedmen and that 270 doz of said hoes were sent to Capt Flagg former Supt of 1st Dist and by him turned over to Mr Pride former Ass't Supt in Accomack Co. who endeavored to dispose of them in Norfolk, but on being informed that they had not paid duties, took them to Accomac Co. — The freedmen have rec. no benefit from them in 1st Dist — Calls attention to the transaction as there appears to be something wrong about it
