In reply to your com. of the 20th ult, asking how it is that the Rations issued to the "Old Ladie's Home" Taylor Farm, "Hospital Taylor Farm" "Small Pox Hospitals" at Norfolk and Portsmouth are issued by one C.S. and the rations to "Taylor Farm," "Norfolk City," and "Wise Farm" are issued by another C.S.  I have the honor to report that from a com. from Col. James Curry enclosed herewith, it appears that during the month of Aug there were three officers acting as C.S. at this Post.  In the absence of Lt. Maj. inquiries have been made of Lt. Wagner who informs me that the rations to the Hosptls. were issued from stores at the Post, while those issued to the destitute out of Hospital were invoiced to Capt. Lawrence, and
