The House and lot at Portsmouth owned by Thomas Baker marked on the list Newtown was found on King street and was taking possession of by Major Moss the Treasury Agent, — the rents were collected by one Mahoney (Clerk for Major Moss) for over a year and a half — this Thomas Baker has since sold the property - also this Mahoney turned over the property to Baker after Major Hudson left and said it was by Major Hudson's orders — that it was turned over.

There is no such name as William Parish on the books at the Register Office - but there is a Lewis Parrish that commanded the Steamer Jamestown & who was in the Confederate Navy during the war. He has a Frame Dwelling located on Court Street Portsmouth. And I am informed was once in possession of the Government — I do know that the Government took all his furniture I have no doubt but it is the same Parrish meant on the list.
