of wood beat Georgeanna about the head, to such an extent that she was unable to attend to her work for nearly a week, saying at the time "God Damn You. I mean to kill you."

As soon as she was able she made complaint to [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] one of the justices of the peace, but she heard that she was in danger of being sent to jail for striking the child and did not appear against him.

Acting on my advice she appeared before the Grand Jury last week, but they failed to find a bill against him (Binns).

In conversation with the Foreman he told me that Georgeanna had made her statement to them but the jury were divided; some being in favor of presenting Binns; others of presenting Georgeanna for assaulting the child, and others of the opinion that the parties each had cause for complaints and that they had better present neither.

Georgeanna informs me that Binns threatened her life, if she took any further steps in the matter.

Very Respectfully
