Capt Stuart Barnes
AQM & Supt 2d Dis FB
Petersburg Va.

Captain
The bearer, Parthena Francis (cold) is the woman sent her last winter by mistake as being Violet Rose (cold), for trial for chiel-murder. She, Parthena, has been here ever since I came here, but has yet been in jail. I have the honor to send her to you that she may be provided with transportation &c [[strikethrough]] from [[/strikethrough]] to Halifax County the place she came from, her home. I have been only waiting for the weather to become sufficiently warm, before sending her, as she has to go on foot.

Without a crime she has received severe punishment by her long confinement in jail.

Very Respectfully
Your Obedt Servt
F M Kimball
