States that he worked for five months in the commissary at Norfolk Va. for which he has never received pay.  Requests that his claims be speedily settled.

Respectfully forwarded.  Mr. Bryant was employed by Col. (then Capt) Brown, but not coming for his pay, was not paid.  The rolls were transferred to Capt. Flagg A.Q.M, in the Extra transfers made to include all the names who were not paid, for the six months ending April 30 1865.

This, like other accounts are properly chargeable to the Q.M Dept. and the Roll (supplimentary) transferred to me by you was sent up to your office with suggestion sometime since that you get authority from the Q.M. Dept for me to pay Mr. Bryant was discharged without pay & without certificate.  I should not feel safe to pay such an account unless borne on No 8 Q M Blank of
