   I have the honor to invite your attention to the following cases, and request instructions in the matter.
   H. Eaton Coleman of Granville N.C. late a Colonel in the Rebel Army, made oaths this day before J.O. Dobbs and J.A. Garrater [[?]] J.s P. that on the -- day of April 1865, he sent his horses to be hid from the troops of the Federal Army then passing thro' the neighborhood.  said horsess were placed in charge of Nelson Coleman and other colored servants, the following day, three of said horses, Nelson and two of their servants were missing. Nelson recently returned to this Co. from Washington D.C.
