Northfield July 1 - 1866.

Sir  in your last note you wished me to get Col Kinsman to certify that he Employed me to put up the Saw mill on the E. Shore of Va. I have written to Barton  can get no trace of him  have employed a freind of mine in Barton to find him if possible but have not succeeded in doing so  I am stoping at Northfield for the present and am in great want of the mony  my health has been poor the past season and consequently have not been able to earn much but has increased my expences. I respectfully ask to have my pay forwarded as soon as convenient
