between the said W T and M T Lawson and Jacob Shelton and said Shelton hearing of the claims of Mrs Anna Lawson to the horse and hearing the proof adduced on that occasion expressed his entire satisfaction as to the justice of Mrs Lawson's claims and his willingness to give him up and did so - and then and there proposed to buy him ; and said W. T. Lawson refused to sell the said horse upon the grounds that he was his father's riding horse and he would not sell him under any consideration without first consulting with his mother
