In my travels from Baltimore to Goldsboro NC, I became acquainted with Sara E. Chace of Worcester Mass, who gave [[strikethrough]] thee [[/strikethrough]] me thy name & address - We talked freely on the subject of the people of Colour.
I called on some of their teachers in Petersburg & intended visiting one of the evening schools (it being the only time I had) but was disappointed in doing so by being absent from my room when L.L. Liler one of the teachers of PA. called for me.
What I could learn of their condition there I thought it much better than in Goldsboro, feeling a deep interest for them [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] in this place a number of them with whom I am well acquainte
