this community that he was to be acquitted. The Grand Jury was dis inclined to find a true Bill against him and would not have done so but for one of their number.
I do not think the verdict in accordance with the facts, nor do I think that the commonwealth produced all the testimony it  could have commanded. There were certainly negroes around the house of Luisenberry, and as the deed was committed within two hundred yards of the house they must know something of it.  I have been told that in the testimony of W Harris before the Examining Court mention was made that an old Negro woman had waived Green "saying-" don't follow Massa Luis or he will hurt you" - again, no member of the inquisition was examined only W Harris to whom the confession was made and a Dr. Gillepsie who testified in regard to the position of the Human Arteries. The defense produced No Evidence Excepting as to character.
There are a few user about here, citizens who seem mortified by the Verdict, after all the boasts they have made of the willingness to administer their laws unpartially if the Execution of them were to be given into them hands. The remainder regard it as a matter of course.
