March 19th 1866

The account of Richard Fleming against Dr Walker was not allowed him for the reason that Maj. Hinds visited the plantation of Dr Walker & assured the freed men that if they would stay & secure the crop they should be paid if not that the Doctor could not pay. Richard did not stay after hearing this. He was paid in part.
