would have promptly sent the sheriff & have directed him to summon a posse if necessary to arrest the whole crowd & bring them into Court - and the Court would have dealt with them as rigorously as the law would permit - The Court immediately upon being so informed sent out a sheriff to arrest said Richard Bibb & bring him into Court, he returned saying he could not find him. he was sent back some three or four times, but reported each time, that after diligent search he could not find him. The Justices then upon the affidavit and compliant of the said John Bibb issues a Warrant and placed it in the hands of a Deputy Sheriff to arrest said Richard Bibb to answer said complaint. The Court will not countenance any such conduct, and respectfully request Capt. James Ashworth the said Provost Marshal, should any misbehavior occur again whilst the Court is in Session to promptly inform the Court, so that the Court may be able to know who are the person or persons so guilty, that they may be dealt with according to law. The Court being determined to preserve Order at all hazards Ordered that the Clerk of this Court deliver a copy of the foregoing to the said Captain James Ashworth.
