further proved that the negro came the next morning (18th June) with the mule, that prisoner paid him $25 & promised to pay him $100 when he returned from Clover Hill - that the prisoner left home about five o'clk in the morning riding the mule.

Witnesses for the commonwealth were then introduced, three in number, all of whom swore that they would not believe the witnesses who had been introduced for the defense on oath. There were two witnesses for the defense, both of these were referred to & included in the last testimony referred to.

I believe the above is substantiality correct but may have left out some small items of evidence.
