I have visited the Wise and Taylor Farm's
   
There is a great deal of sickness on those farms.  Dr Lessing. by order of Dr J. J. DeLamater, is having an Hospital fitted up, at what is called the "Fair Grounds"_ but the work goes on very slowly_ Captain Austin has only one carpenter at work and it will take months to do the work at the rate it is going on at_
   
On the Taylor Farm the engine and boiler, that used to drive the saw mill_ and was in operation for the Government for a long time, is slipping off peice by peice, The Bureau would do well to have the whole thing turned into money_ that is for the Bureau to sell the whole lot by Auction_ It is constantly in a depalidated condition_
   
I seen Bvt Major Stone Supt of Suffolk Yesterday_ he told me he would write Col Bates_ for information in regard to the duties I was to do at Suffolk to perform
